From the abyss of anxiety to the hopeful joy. The cinematic soundworlds capture or intimidate the listener into a deep-seated listening session. With Slim Vic’s 3rd solo album, we get a metamorphosis of emotional states, including two collaborations with frequent musical partners Oestergaards (Dovle Records) and Plasmafuse (Fierce Transmission).

Taking the idea of “slow burn” to its extreme, the 11-plus-minute song offers little more than drone and moody chords during its opening half, but once a plaintive, siren-like female vocal enters the mix about halfway through, the music’s emotional register spikes significantly, conjuring memories of classic 4AD acts like Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil.”
